Frequently Asked Questions
How much do therapy sessions cost?
Therapy sessions cost $150 for a standard 50 minute session. I offer a sliding scale when finances are an issue.
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance. However, I can provide a super bill that you can submit to your insurance company to access your out of network benefits.
Why don’t you take insurance?
Another reason that I do not take insurance, is because insurance companies require therapists to follow approved treatment methods and often limit the number of sessions that they cover.
These requirements may not always be in the best interest of the client.
By not accepting insurance, I can make sure that your therapeutic information remains confidential. I can also customize a treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals for therapy, instead of using a treatment plan dictated by insurance.
How does a sliding scale fee work?
A sliding scale is a reduced rate offered to clients when there is a financial need so that therapy is more affordable. I offer a limited number of reduced rates between $85-$135 when clients can’t afford my full fee.
If you would like to start therapy with me, but cannot afford my full fee, please contact me about my sliding scale availability. If my sliding scale slots are full, I can put you on a waiting list until a spot opens up, or provide you with referrals to other therapists that might offer a reduced rate.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, flexible spending accounts, and health savings accounts. Please bring the exact amount if paying with cash.
